This weekend some of the greatest ladies I know are getting together to celebrate our friend Ellie's engagement. I am so excited! This is the year for engagements and weddings, I think! I'm almost entirely booked to photograph weddings for the months of August and September. I've added a free gift to all of my booked wedding clients this season; a finely-combed and personally curated "goodie-bag" of wedding-must-haves and must-knows. In the bag, I've included the best sites, inspiration, and vendors that I have come across over the years! Here's a little inside scoop: ModCloth is on the list! I'm in love with all things ModCloth - so my love for their vintage-inspired wedding shop came as no surprise to me! The best part are the prices! In my experience, whenever you add "wedding" to anything, prices immediately become astronomical. Not with ModCloth!
Pictured above are some of my favorite pieces.
I love the Everybody Prance Now flats because they're elegant and simple. On top of the cuteness, they're versatile (you can totally use these babies beyond the big day).
A whole new paragraph about the dress because I need to preface -- when Matt and I get married; it's going to be the smallest of small. Our investment priorities are: documentation, and food and libations. We want our family and friends to have so much fun, we want full-on continuity of delicious food and wine, and comfort and worry-free everything-- and we want reputable artists documenting the day so we can show our someday babies photographs from a day that surely will be one of the best we've ever had.
With that in mind; I just will not spend hundreds of dollars on a dress. Besides, I know me. It's inevitable that I will spill wine and saffron-lemon aioli down the front of me before the end of the night. That's why; the Windy City Maxi Dress. It's super simple but can easily be dressed up with an embossed tie or satin sash. Love it, because guys: $85.
Lastly, can we just with this necklace? It's the Quest for the Best Necklace and it's already in my cart.
P.S ModCloth has amazing home & gift pieces as well-- a great place for wedding gifting, registry, or just as an excuse to spruce up your space!
